ARTIST PROFILE · ENGLISH

APJ Sicilian Trio

Led by drummer and composer Antonio Petralia, APJ Sicilian Trio brings together Angelo Di Leonforte on piano and Riccardo Grosso on double bass. The project explores the piano-trio tradition through original compositions by Antonio Petralia and Angelo Di Leonforte, personal interpretations and a Mediterranean lyrical approach built on listening and interplay.

Written material becomes a starting point for improvisation: melodic ideas, rhythmic dialogue and the individual voices of the musicians shape an open musical conversation. The repertoire moves between original music and interpretations of the jazz tradition, balancing lyricism with rhythmic exploration.

Based in Sicily and presented by Associazione Culturale Musikante, APJ Sicilian Trio welcomes enquiries from European jazz festivals, jazz clubs and cultural institutions for international jazz booking and reciprocal cultural exchanges.
