International Jazz Exchange
Connecting organisations. Sharing stages. Building lasting cultural partnerships.
A reciprocal cultural exchange programme for established organisations based outside Italy, featuring jazz trios and quartets.
Coming soon. Applications open on 20 October 2026 and close on 31 March 2027. Applicants will be notified of the selection outcome by 15 May 2027.

Call timeline
- Applications open: 20 October 2026
- Application deadline: 31 March 2027
- Selection outcome: by 15 May 2027
Selected partners will then agree exact dates, venues and responsibilities in writing. The selection outcome does not replace the partnership agreement.
A shared stage across borders
Musikante is developing an international network of cultural organisations committed to the production and circulation of live jazz. Each selected partnership will connect an international project with a Musikante project through reciprocal concert hosting.
The partner organisation will host a project proposed by Musikante in its own country; Musikante will host a project proposed by that partner in Italy.
Who can apply
- Legally constituted organisations with their registered office outside Italy, in an eligible country.
- Organisations with a documented track record in jazz production and live programming.
- Organisations able to propose a jazz trio or quartet and offer a concrete reciprocal hosting opportunity.
Individual musicians and ensembles applying independently are not eligible.
What a partnership involves
- A jazz trio or quartet proposed by each organisation.
- A reciprocal hosting proposal with suitable venues and a realistic time frame.
- Shared artistic planning, audience development and communication.
- A written agreement setting out each partner’s responsibilities before any exchange is confirmed.
Geographical scope
The call welcomes applications from established cultural and music organisations based across Europe, as well as in Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Morocco, Tunisia and Türkiye.
Applicants must have their registered office abroad. Individual musicians, independently applying ensembles and organisations seeking only a performance opportunity without reciprocal hosting capacity are not eligible.
Each partnership is subject to operational feasibility and any applicable restrictions.

What we will look for
Artistic quality, organisational experience, the quality of the reciprocal hosting proposal, financial feasibility and the potential for a lasting partnership.
Selection will not constitute an automatic commitment to fund or host a project. Each exchange will be confirmed only through a mutually agreed written partnership agreement.
Reciprocity and shared responsibilities
Each sending organisation covers its own ensemble’s international travel and artist fees. Musikante will cover these costs for the Musikante project travelling abroad; the partner will cover them for its own project travelling to Italy.
The hosting organisation provides accommodation, meals, agreed local transfers, the venue, sound equipment, technical staff and the agreed backline. Each host also handles local promotion and ticketing and retains its local box-office revenue.
For concerts hosted by Musikante, technical production will be coordinated by Musikante in collaboration with Labbing and Alto Volume di Noce, according to the agreed technical rider. Each partner remains responsible for technical production at its own hosting venue.
Dates, budgets, technical requirements, cancellation arrangements and each organisation’s responsibilities will be set out in a written partnership agreement before the exchange is confirmed.
