On the occasion of International Jazz Day 2026, the Musikante Cultural Association, with the support of the Municipality of Sant'Agata Li Battiati, presents Two of a Kind - Jazz Conversations, a project that celebrates jazz as a universal language of dialogue, freedom and encounter between cultures.
Protagonists of the evening are Roberto Gervasi on accordion and Nicola Giammarinaro on clarinet: two musicians united by a deep artistic harmony and a common immersion in the language of bebop.
Accordion and clarinet take the frontline role, leading the quartet in an intense and dynamic musical conversation built on interplay, counterpoint and improvisational exchanges. Phrasing, articulation and rhythmic sense become the heart of an ever-evolving sonic dialogue.
The quartet is completed by Davide Inguaggiato on double bass and Antonio Petralia on drums, a solid and responsive rhythm section capable of constantly supporting and stimulating the creative confrontation of the two leaders.
The repertoire alternates standards from the jazz tradition with original compositions, keeping the spirit of bebop and the great swing tradition as a common thread, with openings to moments of lyricism and freedom of expression.
The evening will be enhanced by an art installation curated by Andrea Urzì, in a visual dialogue that amplifies the musical experience and creates a bridge between sound and contemporary art.
