July 13, 2026 – the dialogue of contemporary jazz is the protagonist at the Catania Summer Fest 2026

Gervasi & Giammarinaro 5et: il dialogo del jazz contemporaneo protagonista al Catania Summer Fest 2026

As part of Catania Summer Fest 2026, the Cultural Association Musikante submitted in Federico II di Svevia Square the concert of Gervasi & Giammarinaro 5et, a project that brings together two of the most authoritative interpreters of contemporary Sicilian jazz: Roberto Gervasi on the accordion and Nicola Giammarinaro on the clarinet.

The duo was born from the meeting of two musicians united by a deep artistic harmony and a constant expressive research, elements that give life to an original musical language in which tradition and innovation coexist in a natural balance. The dialogue between accordion and clarinet represents the heart of the project, developing through a refined interplay made of mutual listening, improvisation, and continuous timbral exploration.

Alongside the two leaders, the quintet saw the participation of Francis Pantusa on guitar, Davide Inguaggiato on double bass and Antonio Petralia on drums, a lineup capable of combining rhythmic solidity, interpretive sensitivity, and great creative freedom. The repertoire alternated between jazz tradition standards and original compositions, offering the audience a musical journey rich in melodic nuances, improvisational energy, and moments of intense communication.

Included in the lineup of the Municipality of Catania's main summer event, the concert confirmed the value of an entirely Sicilian production, capable of competing on the national and international scene through an authentic and contemporary artistic proposal.

The event represented a further step in Musikante's journey aimed at enhancing local talent and promoting jazz as a universal language of dialogue and sharing. A concert that successfully combined artistic quality, musical research, and audience engagement, confirming the role of the Gervasi & Giammarinaro 5et among the most interesting acts in contemporary Italian jazz.
