La Blue Light Orchestra protagonist of the final appointment of the 13th Summer Edition of the Battiati Jazz Festival, the festival promoted by’Musikante Cultural Association which even in 2026 accompanied the audience of Sant'Agata Li Battiati through a journey in the name of jazz, of literature, and of the intersection of different artistic languages.
In the setting of Cultural Pole Gardens, the ensemble brought to the stage the expressive power of a large lineup, built upon the encounter between a horn section and a rhythm section and capable of rendering all the timbral richness of the big jazz band tradition.
La Blue Light Orchestra it brings together some of the most acclaimed musicians of the Sicilian scene: Daniele Zappalà to the trumpet, Nando Sorbello to the trombone, Alfio Di Bella alto saxophone, Daniele Limpido alto tenor sax, Antonio Bonasera on the baritone sax, Francis Pantusa on guitar, Gabriele Agosta on the piano, Richard Grosso on double bass and Antonio Petralia to the battery.
An ensemble with a strong identity, in which writing, arrangement, and improvisation meet through a language that looks to the great orchestral tradition of jazz, reinterpreting it with contemporary sensibility. The dialogue between the horns, supported by a dynamic and versatile rhythm section, provides space for the individual soloists without losing the collective dimension that constitutes the very essence of the project.
As in the other events of the summer festival, the final evening also paired music with a moment dedicated to literature. Before the concert, it was presented “Night falls”, new novel by the female writer Lorena Spampinato, continuing that dialogue between the written word and music that has characterized the entire edition.
The concert of the Blue Light Orchestra thus sealed a summer journey made of encounters, new productions, and artistic contaminations, confirming the Battiati Jazz Festival as one of the historical events in Musikante's programming and as an open space for musical quality, cultural sharing, and the promotion of local artists.
