The Battiati Jazz Festival 2026 – Notes in Theatre hosted one of the most significant events of its artistic season with the concert by Raffaele Genovese Quartet, training led by the Sicilian pianist and composer, one of the most interesting personalities in contemporary Italian jazz.
Genovese's musical proposal is distinguished by original and deeply evocative writing, capable of merging tradition and innovation in a personal, elegant, and expressively rich language. His compositions traverse different sonic territories, building a continuous dialogue between melody, improvisation, and harmonic exploration, with particular attention to the narrative dimension of music.
During the concert, the quartet led the audience on an intense emotional journey through original pieces characterized by evocative melodies, engaging rhythms, and refined arrangements. The interplay between the musicians, combined with the creative freedom of improvisation, brought to life a performance of great artistic impact, capable of involving listeners in an authentic and participatory listening experience.
Raffaele Genovese's compositions move along the border between contemporary jazz and other musical influences, always maintaining a strong stylistic identity. The result is intense and communicative music, in which lyricism, energy, and expressive depth coexist.
The event confirmed the calling of Battiati Jazz Festival a space dedicated to the appreciation of contemporary creativity and new jazz languages, offering the public the opportunity to meet artists capable of originally interpreting the evolution of this extraordinary musical form.
